Mirimichi and AE Awards

May 13, 2010
Mirimichi and AE Awards First course in the world to obtain both GEO and AI Certification.
Mirimichi, a world-class golf facility located 15 minutes north of downtown Memphis, became the first golf course in the Americas to receive Golf Environment Organization (GEO) Certified status. The GEO Certification complements Mirimichi‘s existing environmental award as the first golf course in the U.S. to be designated as a Certified Audubon International Classic Sanctuary. To achieve both these certifications, Mirimichi has worked closely with AE and accredited GEO Sustainability Advisers on creating responsible procedures and policies for the long-term environmental management of the golf course and comprehensive employee training. We are so proud to have been a part of Mirimichi and congratulations to the entire team!! Mirimichi is family owned by Justin Timberlake and co-founders, Lynn and Paul Harless, and everyone is busy preparing for the grand opening scheduled for later this summer. In fact, Justin Timberlake was featured on Oprah earlier this week, during which he surprised a loving fan with some golf lessons and invited her and her husband out to Mirimichi. For more information on the Mirimichi grand opening this summer and to check out the Oprah clip, please visit http://mirimichi.com/news.

One of our own was recognized recently for community and business leadership.
Our Executive Vice President, Rich Henderson (generally known as the “business guy”), was awarded a 40 Under 40 Leadership Award from the Triangle Business Journal. The 40 Under 40 Leadership Award honors the brightest, most promising young business people under the age of 40 in the Triangle. Award recipients are judged on the importance of their leadership role in their organization, significant milestones in their career during the previous year, and substantial involvement in community service.
What did Rich have to say? Q: What has been the biggest factor in your success? A: Making consistent ethically based decisions and enabling others around me to succeed. I have been successful largely through the contributions of my partners and colleagues. What a guy! We are glad you are a part of our team!

Value Creation services for nature-based amenities.
Audubon Environmental continues to develop enhanced service offerings as the development markets change and adapt to the new customer mentality. One result of the changing customer base for new development is a new respect for preserved open space and using water bodies and greenways as a natural amenity for resort destinations and residential development. AE has been integrating natural spaces with development for nearly 20 years and is expanding these services through partners to introduce opportunities for creating value and returns on natural resources. For more information on this service, contact Jan Delory at , or 919-380-9640 x110.
