Audubon Environmental Expands European Operations
Sustainability Consulting Firm Increases Presence in Portugal

RALEIGH, N.C. – Miles M. (Bud) Smart, Ph.D., president of Audubon Environmental (http://www.audubonenv.com), a sustainability consulting firm that works with landowners, developers and government entities to protect and sustain land, water, wildlife and natural resources, has announced that the firm has expanded its presence in Europe with an office in Portugal, located at Av. António Augusto de Aguiar, 66 - 5º Esq., 1069-018 Lisbon. Audubon Environmental, based in Raleigh, N.C., has delivered more than 11 projects in Portugal and several more throughout Europe. The firm is currently working with Herdade da Comporta, a new multi-use development located in the Alentajo region of Portugal.

The office in Portugal is led by Susana Morais, director at Audubon Environmental Europe. Morais received her Master of Science from the University of California at Berkeley in landscape architecture – environmental planning, and has a background in landscape architecture from the University of Agronomy in Lisbon, Portugal. Morais has extensive experience conducting site evaluations and providing analyses for site vegetation, landscaping opportunities, preservation or restoration potential, and invasive vegetation removal.
