Old Corkscrew Golf Course

Old Corkscrew is an 18-hole golf facility located on Corkscrew Road between Fort Myers and Naples, Florida on a 275-acre magnificently wooded site. The natural flow way cuts through the center of the property, through groves of native hammocks, pines, palms, and palmettos with beautiful vistas of lakes and preserves enhancing the golfing experience. Natural cart paths take you around Old Corkscrew, around purple-topped natural grasses and the marsh that juts into the gracefully-contoured fairways.

Sustainability Features

  • The site was restored and enhanced through the restoration of a historic flow way through the property.
  • Preserved 40 acres of wetland habitat and 15 acres of upland habitat.
  • Removed exotic vegetation such as Melaleuca trees and Brazilian Pepper.
  • Installed bird boxes, bat boxes, and feeding stations to enhance habitat and attract wildlife.
  • Transplanted 330 cardinal air plants-a native species that root symbiotically on tree trunks and branches, provide habitat for birds, small wildlife and hold water.
