Mirimichi
Mirimichi is about the harmony between golf, people and nature. World-class greens amidst nature's playground of towering trees, natural grassland, rugged elevations and meandering creeks. Mirimichi will be maintained at the peak of efficiency and with state of the art environmentally friendly
practices– providing a sanctuary for western Tennessee plants and wildlife and a natural filter for cleaning storm water.
Sustainability Features
- Calculating an Ecological Footprint that will be used to identify opportunities to reduce Mirimichi’s impact on natural resources.
- The Mirimichi landscape team has thus far converted 100 acres of managed turf on the golf course to native grasslands.
- Buffers and littoral shelves have been added to on-site streams and ponds.
- The maintenance building has been designed to reduce the potential for spills and prevent pollution of soil, surface water, or ground water.
- Mirimichi and Audubon Environmental created guides and implemented training to educate employees and golfers about the environmental measures on-site and inspire environmental stewardship.
