Forest Dunes Golf Club
Minnesota’s Forest Dunes is a 7104-yard, par 72, Tom Weiskopf signature designed golf course. Adjacent to the Huron National Forest, the course layout is so subtle and artful that the course appears to have always been there. The front 9 holes are edged by dense rolling forests of red and jack pines, while the remaining 9 holes were built upon vast rolling dunes of glacial sand deposits framed by corridors of pine, bracken and wildflowers.
Sustainability Features
- Of the 160 acres, only 70 acres are managed turf grass.
- Preserved the regions natural heritage by propagating seeds and plant cuttings from undeveloped areas of the property.
- Over 40,000 plants were grown and used from on-site seed.
- Course uses prescribed burns to remove exotic weeds and encourage desired warm season grasses and wildflowers in native areas.
- Test garden located on-site that identifies native plants.
